Boston Harbor Skyline Watercolor Rendering is Completed!

Seems like it was a long time ago this picture for this painting was taken. That's because it was. Almost 4 years ago I rode a commuter rail into south station in downtown Boston to photograph various buildings to paint in my studio. It was a beautiful day, and I took this one just before I was to ride the train back home. The skyline is a modern one with buildings designed by Philip Johnson and Graham Gund and many others. I enjoyed the project, although many interruptions tested my resolve. Boats in the harbor tell of a city on the Atlantic Ocean and the relationship of the community with the sea and all of its mystery and adventure. The large glass building reflecting the blue sea and sky in the foreground at left is evidence to the city alw

ays moving forward. I will continue with more of my trip to Boston with another rendering.
