St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish - Clinton, MA - Finished!

The beautiful church in downtown Clinton with its gothic steeple and buttresses was photographed on a sunny Sunday morning in late July, 2017. I drafted the perspective at an angle coming from up towards the police station and museum of Russian Icons. I painted the portrait in watercolors. The sky was an easy wash of blue green and violet red shade. The brick was vermillion and burnt umber and crimson. A little orange brightness resulted but still as true a rendering as I could manage. Our lady's statue is off to the right on the lawn in the shade of a large leafy oak tree.
