East Princeton Post Office and Country Store Circa 1960 is my next painting!

Located on route 140 at the foot of Mount Wachusett was the East Princeton Post Office and Country Store. In the 1960s 78 Main St. Princeton Ma was a hub of activity for the quiet Central Massachusetts town. The store served the area as a grocery store, hardware and general store, clothing and fabrics, and any other goods necessary for life in the rural farming community. It also served as a post office for the local people. Since the town consolidated the two zip codes thus eliminating the East Princeton zip code the post office moved to the center and the store eventually closed too. The house is still there as can be seen below, though it is now a private residence.
